Biographical notes:

This work is movement (etude) number four of Berky's "Symphony no. 3" which is subtitled, "Symphony of etudes in five movements." Composed in 1991, It consists of nine variations on typical baroque forms such as the passacaglia and chaconne.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
