The council enacts provisions for the State Sanitary Code, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Health.

CURRENT FUNCTIONS:The Council has no executive, administrative, or appointive duties. At the request of the Commissioner of Health, it considers any matter relating to the preservation and improvement of public health and may from time to time submit recommendations to the Health Commissioner as it may deem necessary.
