Biographical notes:

Active civic leader who played leading roles in the National Association of Colored Women's Clubs and the Ohio Association of Colored Women's Clubs. Also served as an advisor to the United States Department of Labor and UNESCO. Participant in many Toledo (Ohio) area social welfare clubs.

Noted as the first African-American woman to graduate from the University of Pittsburgh College of Pharmacy.
