When Nathaniel Green Warthern (1825-1895) from Washington, Co., GA, moved to Walker County and soon married Sarah Adaline (Ada or Addie) Marsh (1836-1926) on February 15, 1859, they began the family whose correspondence among sisters, brothers, parents, and children gives a rich picture of school years, courtship, small business, and general family life.
