Governor of S.C. 1738-1756; resident in S.C., 1743-1761; native of Linlithgow, Scotland; Glen's sister, Margaret, married S.C. planter John Drayton, Jr. in 1752; after Glen's departure from S.C., Drayton managed Glen's business affairs in the colony.
