Kelton, Elmer

Biographical notes:

A prolific western writer, Elmer Kelton was born on April 29, 1926 at Horse Camp, east of Andrews, Texas. He wrote numerous western novels including The Good Ole Boys, Honor at Daybreak, and Man Who Rode Midnight. In addition to his western novels, Kelton wrote numerous articles for The Farmer-Stockman since 1964. He has also been a writer for the San Angelo Times and served as editor for the West Texas Livestock and the Sheep and Goat Raisers Association. Since 1955, Kelton has been a member of the Western Writers of America.
