Downey, Virtea Washington, 1913-
Biographical notes:
A native and resident of Indianapolis, Ind., Downey taught in Indianapolis public schools for 25 years. Through the Indianapolis Section of the National Council of Negro Women, she helped launch the Black Women in the Middle West Project.
