Biographical notes:

W. H. Stowell founded W. H. Stowell Drug Company in Spokane in 1890. The store was located at 421 W. Sprague Avenue. He previously had been involved in drug stores in California and Nevada where he became interested in mines and mining operations. In Spokane an assay business was a department in his store. The collection consists of documents and papers from 1890 to 1960.
