The Kantishna oral history project was begun in 1983 under the direction of Dianne Gudgel-Holmes. Its goal was to collect oral histories, archival materials, and other information on the history of the Kantishna drainage region of Alaska. The project was funded by the Alaska Humanities Forum, the Alaska Historical Commission, and the National Park Service.
