Drury family

Biographical notes:

Colonel Luke Drury was born in Grafton, Massachusetts, on March 11, 1737, the son of Thomas Drury and Sarah Clarke. He served in the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. On July 26, 1759, Drury married Lydia Sherman (1736-1793), with whom he had nine children: Luke (b. 1759), John (1761-1823), Lydia (b. 1763), Mary (b. 1765), Ephraim (b. 1768), Aldon (b. 1770), Austin (b. 1773), Lucy (b. 1775), and Thomas (b. 1779). Following the death of his first wife, he married Mary Howland on March 25, 1795. Luke Drury died on April 1, 1811. His son John became a physician and shipping merchant in Bristol, Rhode Island, and was involved in trade with the West Indies.
