Kansas Rural Letter Carriers' Association. Ladies Auxiliary.

The National Rural Letter Carriers' Association is a labor union for rural letter carriers employed by the U.S. Postal Service. Numerous ladies' auxiliary branches have existed in Kansas. On February 22, 1924, the first of these formed in Dodge City in the 7th district of the RLCA. On June 14th a second auxiliary was formed in Norton, and on July 26th a third was formed in Emporia. On August 11-12th, 1924, delegates from the auxiliaries convened and formed the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kansas Rural Letter Carriers Association. More delegates were sent to St. Paul, Minnesota, between September 9-12 which resulted in the formation of the National Auxiliary. The purpose of the organization was to unite fraternally the wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, and those depending on the support of a rural letter carrier. Women carriers were made honorary members.
