Biographical notes:
William Purves Race Godfrey was a noted architect. He was a director of the architectural firm of Godfrey and Spowers Pty. Ltd. He was also a president of the Royal Victorian Institute of Architects from 1956 to 1957. From 1958 to 1967 he was a member of the National Capital Planning Committee.
