On April 15, 1868, Charles P. Morse of Pembroke, New Hampshire, and John L. Woodman of Deerfield entered into a partnership called Charles P. Morse and Co. The purpose of the business, located in Suncook, New Hampshire, was to sell the sorts of goods as were usually found in stores retailing stoves, tin, wooden objects, glass, and britania ware.
