Biographical notes:

Judson A. Grenier was born in Indiana in 1930. He received his bachelor degree from the University of Minnesota in 1951 and his masters a year later from the University of California. In 1956 he began teaching at El Camino College in Torrance, California, while pursuing his doctorate in history at UCLA. After receiving his PhD, Dr. Grenier joined the original faculty of CSC Dominguez Hills in 1966 during its inception period. At Dominguez Hills, he served as first chairman of the history department and as a representative member of the college on the state academic senate. Dr. Grenier has been a consultant for many cities and school districts in Los Angeles County. Dr. Grenier is also a research associate at the Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History and his works and contributions have been published in history books, historical societies serials, and journals such as California History, the Southern California Quarterly, and Manhattan Beach historical series publications. Among his many honors, he received the CSUDH University Advisory Board's Distinguished Community Service Award.
