Historian, antiquarian, and genealogist of Concord, Mass.; Secretary of Concord Antiquarian Society; editor of New England Farmer. Born in Roxbury, Mass., in 1836; died in Concord, 1909. Attended Harvard College. Married Elizabeth Bartlett Adams in 1861. Compiled catalog of Concord Antiquarian Society holdings, published by Society in 1911. Society also published Tolman's lectures before it, including "John Jack, the Slave, and Daniel Bliss, the Tory" (read 1889, published [1902]).
