Biographical notes:

Samuel Phillips Savage was a merchant in Boston, Ma. The son of Arthur Savage and Faith Phillips, he married Sarah Tyler. He is said to have presided at the meeting at Old South Church in advance of the Boston Tea Party where it was decided that tea should not be landed in Boston's harbor.
