Biographical notes:
Farmer, soldier.
James Rogers was born May 13, 1840 in Bourbon County, Ky. He served in Company C of the First Battalion, of the Kentucky Mounted Rifles and later as adjutant of the Third Battalion during the Civil War. After the war he returned to his home in Bourbon County as a breeder of trotting horses and to manage the farming business.
