Biographical notes:

Pascal Enos, one of the founders of Springfield, Illinois and appointed receiver of the land office there in 1823, by President Monroe, and his son Pascal Enos, Jr. who was elected to the Illinois legislature in 1852 and appointed Clerk of the United States Circuit Court by Justice McLean and re-appointed by Justice David Davis. Pacal, Sr., born in Connecticut, had graduated from Dartmouth, studied law, and served as High Sheriff of Windsor County, Vermont before moving to Illinois.
