Preliminary meeting held in Louisville, KY on July 18, 1881 to organize a company to build and operate a bridge connecting Louisville, KY with Jeffersonville, IN. Articles of association filed in Clark County, IN on August 4, 1887.
From 1895 to 1927 terminal facilities were leased by the Chesapeake and Ohio Railway Company.
