Biographical notes:

Confederate Officer, Presbyterian Minister, College President. Attended University of Virginia; enlisted a private 3d Company Richmond Howitzers. Ordanace officer on the staff of General Echols. Post-War, he attended Washington College and Union Theological Seminary. He was a Presbyterian minister in Savannah, Georgia, and became President of Westminister College in Missouri.
