Title is that of a sonnet by Shakespeare. Music based on the first phrase of the plainchant Kyrie Orbis Factor. Composed 1970. Selected for performance by the Orchestra Society of Philadelphia as part of its Pennsylvania Composers Project 1974, made possible by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council for the Arts. First performance Mandell Theatre, Drexel University, Philadelphia, 22 June 1974, Orchestra Society of Philadelphia, Sidney Rothstein conductor.--Cf. Fleisher Collection.
