Maple Leaf Lutheran Church ( Seattle, Wash.)
Biographical notes:
In August of 1946, the Evangelical Church sent Rev. Oliver Everette to establish a congregation in the rapidly growing northeast section of Seattle. First services were held in Maple Leaf Elementary School on September 8, 1946. Ground was broken for the church on June 8, 1947, and a parsonage was dedicated November 30. The church was dedicated on September 19, 1948. Shortly thereafter the congregation voted to sponsor a displaced family from Europe. The congregation became self-supporting on August 15, 1950, and on December 3, 1951 a new sanctuary and parish education building were dedicated.
