Biographical notes:

The Lutheran World Federation Service to Refugees was originated by Howard Hong. A Norwegian Lutheran, Hong was Director of Refugee work for the Lutheran world convention and the World Council of Churches. He also was associated with the YWCA and its work with World War II prisoners of war.
