Noble, Charles, 1797-1874
Biographical notes:
Born in Williamstown, Mass., July 4,1797; was graduated from Williams College, 1815; studied law with his uncle, David Noble, and was admitted to bar,1818; practiced in Monroe, Mich.,1818-67; was member of Legislative Council; justice of the peace; district attorney; register of probate; lawyer-general of the U. S. for district northwest of Ohio River. He was a purchaser and first president of Michigan Southern Railroad. In 1867 he moved to Detroit and became partner of real estate firm,George S. Frost & Company;he died there,December 26,1874. He was married to Eliza Symmes Wing,daughter of Enoch Wing,and had seven children,among them Charles Wing Noble of Detroit.
