Biographical notes:

Lawyer and horticulturist.

Frederic P. Lee was an expert on agricultural problems and counseled in the preparation of many federal farm relief bills and other measures, reports, and legal arguments. In addition to his membership in various law firms, he held several government posts, including assistant legislative draftsman of the House, 1919, and legislative counsel of the Senate, 1923. He later served as special counsel to the Secretary of Agriculture. Lee also was professor of law at Georgetown University from 1929 to 1935. Due to his interest in horticulture, he served as chairman of the advisory council of the National Arboretum from 1946 to 1948; was a member of the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission; and wrote THE AZALEA BOOK and articles for law journals and horticultural magazines.
