Biographical notes:
William Eben Stone, the son of Dr. Ebenezer and Elizabeth Holbrook (Hawes) Stone, was born 27 November 1845 Walpole, MA. William graduated from Brown University in 1866 and then studied mining engineering for a year at M.I.T. William Stone was an active member of the Stone Family Association and in 1907 he was appointed a member of the Committee on English Research of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. William Stone died 23 February 1921 Cambridge MA.
