Sociologist and lawyer, Marie Witkin Kargman received her master's degree from Radcliffe College in 1951.

Kargman (1914- ), trained as a sociologist and lawyer (A.M., Radcliffe College, 1951; J.D., DePaul University, 1936), is a marriage and divorce counselor and consultant in family law. She has lectured in sociology at the nursing schools of Boston's Children's Hospital (1961-1962) and New England Deaconess (1963), and at Boston University (1965-1968), and in 1967 was appointed chair of the Massachusetts Governor's Advisory Council on Home and Family. Particularly interested in married women's rights and child custody, she lectures widely and is a frequent guest on radio and television programs. Kargman is the author of How to Manage a Marriage (1985) and numerous articles on marriage and family law.
