Biographical notes:
IAMAW Local Lodge 37 (also known as Crescent City Lodge 37), New Orleans, Louisiana, was chartered at the end of the nineteenth century. According to a 1961 cover page of the By-Laws of Crescent City Lodge No. 37 International Association of Machinists, the lodge was organized on July 11, 1899. Founding lodge members took the original nickname of New Orleans, "Crescent City", as its own, and it appears to have remained in use until the 1950's.
