Biographical notes:

The Morehouse ancestors moved from New York to Michigan and then to Central Illinois where they have served as teachers, minister, businessmen and morticians. Lewis Cass and Heber Judson, sons of Albert Morehouse of Portland Michigan, settled in Illinois. Cass was a Baptist minister and Heber taught in Champaign County schools for sixteen years before selling insurance and then obtaining an undertaking license. Cass's wife Katy had a store in Wyoming, Ill. where she sold groceries, china and stationery. Their children all attended the University of Ill. Two of his daughters taught in the area for many years. His sons Kent, Paul and Bruce became homesteaders in Alberta Canada.
