David McKee Hall (1918-1960) of Sylva, Jackson County, N.C., was a United States Representative, Democrat, lawyer, and leader in regional business and civic affairs. Hall was the son of David McKee Hall and Edith Moore Hall. He contracted osteomyelitis as a teenager and was subsequently confined to a wheelchair. He was a special student at the University of North Carolina, graduating in 1948. He practiced law at Sylva, had a cattle farm at Webster, N.C., and had other business interests in the vicinity. In 1944 he married Sarah McCullom. He was elected to the state Senate in 1954 and to United States House of Representatives of the 86th Congress in 1958. Hall represented the 12th District of North Carolina and was a member of the House committees on Science and Astronautics, Appropriations, and National Rivers and Harbors. He died thirteen months into his term.
