William Waldo Dodge, Jr., was born on February 6, 1895, in Washington, D.C. He settled in Asheville, North Carolina, in 1923 and practiced architecture in that area for several decades thereafter. He died on February 21, 1971. His son, William Waldo Dodge III, attended North Carolina State University and practiced architecture in Raleigh, North Carolina.

William Waldo Dodge, Jr. (1895-1971) was an American architect and silversmith. Dodge, Jr. was born and raised in Washington, D.C. He studied architecture at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. However, before completing his degree Dodge, Jr. enlisted to serve in World War I. Having sustained injuries during the war, he was sent to Oteen Veteran's Administration Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina for treatment. As part of his rehabilitation, Dodge, Jr. learned the art of silversmithing from an occupational therapist named Margaret Wheeler Robinson. The two married in 1921 and settled in Asheville. In 1923, Dodge, Jr. began practicing architecture, designing private residences and French style shops. He formed the firm Six Associates, Inc. in 1940 with several partner Asheville architects and engineers. In 1946, he resumed his private practice focusing primarily on renovations and additions to existing buildings. He retired from practice in 1958 and died on February 21, 1971.

William Waldo Dodge III (1928- ), the son of Dodge, Jr., practiced architecture in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was born in Asheville, N.C. and studied architecture at North Carolina State University. His practice focused on the restoration and renovation of established buildings. He has been a partner in the firms Dodge and Beckwith, Dodge and Associates, and Dodge and Amann Architecture.
