Faith Lutheran Church (Coquille, Or.)

Biographical notes:

The first pastor to serve this area was A. K. Bethmann, assigned by the ALC Northwestern district officials to begin work in 1947. In 1949 the sixteen families which had assembled called Rev. Norman Orth to be their first full time pastor. Under his leadership the congregation became officially organized, adopted a constitution, built a parsonage, and made plans for a new church. The church was dedicated December 16, 1951. The parish education unit was built by volunteers in 1964, being dedicated on September 13 of that year. Plans for a new parsonage were begun in 1971, with completion in 1973.
