Wellington Family

Biographical notes:

Biographical Note

Charles Irving Wellington came to San Diego in 1892 with his wife, Elnora (Fisher) Wellington and their three children, Claudia, Roy, and Earl. Wellington worked as a house painter and contractor. He also managed and later owned the Cholla Valley Salt Plant until it was destroyed in the 1916 flood. After living in the vicinity of San Diego Bay, Wellington bought an acre of land in the new Skinner Addition. He constructed a family home at this site which became the central meeting place for the Wellington and Fisher families. In his later years, Wellington became an amateur horticulturalist.
