Biographical notes:

Power served on the gunboat Somerset off the Florida Keys during the Civil War. He married Lula (Lulie) Monroe, and they apparently lived in Indianapolis. Their daughter, Pearl A. Power, graduated from Indianapolis High School. Lulie Power, with her father Dr. J.R. Monroe, edited the periodical THE IRON-CLAD AGE.
