Philip Anderson is a condensed-matter theorist and professor emeritus of Physics at Princeton University.

He won the 1977 Nobel Prize in Physics together with Sir Nevill Francis Mott and John Hasbrouck van Vleck "for their fundamental theoretical investigations of the electronic structure of magnetic and disordered systems."
