Dr. Gladys Shafran Kashdin was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1921. A painter, photographer and collagist, Kashdin is a well-respected artist and professor whose artistic repertoire includes nearly 70 one-woman shows, 55 group exhibitions and the donation of American Abstract Expressionist research to the Smithsonian Institution. Her artistic series, which have been exhibited at numerous museums, include “The Everglades,” “Processes of Time,” and “Gaia’s Daughters.” Professor Emerita at the University of South Florida, Kashdin is recognized for her creative and professorial achievements.
