Biographical notes:
Resident of Dunkley's Mount in eastern area of old Edgefield District (a site currently located in Aiken County), S.C.; overseer and blacksmith during the Civil War; caretaker of Vaucluse factory textile mill property after its destruction by fire in 1867.
