Biographical notes:
Robert John Drew was born in N.Y. on January 23, 1923. He began studying art at the age of 15 and was accepted at the High School of Music and Art in New York City. Drew was unmarried, had completed four years of high school and working in beverage production when he enlisted in the Army at New York City, N.Y. on November 4, 1942. Initially assigned to Company L, 87th Mountain Infantry Division, he later served with Company M for winter warfare training at Camp Hale, Colo. Drew died on Camano Island, Wash. on December 21, 2008.
