Australian artist. First formal training at the National Gallery School, Melbourne, under Frederick McCubbin. From 1907 to 1918 studied art in Europe in both London and Paris. Toured extensively during this time including trips to Italy and Morocco. From 1924 to 1926 returned to Europe with close friend Dorothy Richmond, taking a studio in Paris and touring regional France on painting trips. she was appointed an Associate of the Paris Salon in 1925. In 1928 settled in Delgate, New South Wales where she lived for the rest of her life, continuing with her art and painting mostly scenes of life in rural Australia. Over her long career, exhibited both nationally and internationally, with the French Government purchasing two of her works for its national collection. She was admitted to the Paris Salon in 1925.
