Dunmore Station (Vic.)

Biographical notes:

Dunmore Station was a property in the Western District of Victoria between Macarthur and Port Fairy. Racehorses, Shorthorn cattle and merino sheep were bred there. It belonged to Charles Hamilton Macknight (1819-1873), James Hamilton Irvine and William Campbell from 1842. Campbell sold his share in 1847. In December 1863, the property was subdivided into Dunmore and Dunmore West, the former remaining with Macknight and Irvine until 1876.
