Biographical notes:
1801 appointed to the medical staff of the Bengal army; 1801-1804 assistant surgeon, 2nd battalion, 12th regiment of North India; 1804-1805 garrison surgeon, Rampoorah; 1805 rejoined the 2nd battalion, 12th regiment of North India; 1810 left the 12th regiment; 1811 in charge of a native field hospital during the invasion of Java; c 1816 assistant secretary, later chief secretary to the government of Java; 1820-1821 secretary and superintendent of the Bengal Military Orphan Society; 1821 died.
