Biographical notes:

William Blackmore was a British entrepreneur who promoted British and Dutch investment in Southwestern land. He began his career as a representative of English mining interests in New Mexico after the Civil War. He developed investment ventures in Colorado and New Mexico. His ventures involved Spanish and Mexican land grants.

William Blackmore was an English entrepreneur who was involved in New Mexico and Colorado during the late 19th century. Based in England, Blackmore conducted his United States ventures (the Denver & Rio Grande Railway, the New Mexico Trust Land Programs, and the Chama ventures) through visits and representatives.
