James H. Lee, Confederate soldier, lived in the Eutaw, Greene County, Alabama, area before his enlistment. He served as a private with the 43rd Alabama Infantry but saw little fighting until 1864, when the regiment went to Petersburg, Virginia. It is unknown whether he died there or surrendered witht the regiment at Appomatox.
