Lewis Morris (1726-1798) was a landowner and judge from Morrisania, N.Y. As a delegate to the Continental Congress, Morris signed the Declaration of Independence. He was the son of Lewis Morris (1698-1762); grandson of Lewis Morris (1671-1746), colonial governor of New Jersey and chief justice of New York; and father of Lewis Morris (1754-1824) of South Carolina.
