Porterfield, Marion, 1879-1972
Biographical notes:
Marion "Minnie" Porterfield was born in Kansas in March 1879. She moved to Missoula, Montana by 1911 to teach at the Roosevelt School. She joined the Montana Mountaineers in its inaugural year of 1922. As a Mountaineer, Porterfield held the positions of Secretary and Musical Director. She taught in Missoula until her retirement from the Central School in 1944. She died on 24 September 1972.
