Variant namesHistory notes:
Charles T. Main, Inc. was incorporated in 1926 by Charles T. Main (1856-1943). Originally specialized in textile mill engineering, but gradually expanded to include many types of industrial and hydroelectric engineering. In 1928, along with Lockwood Greene Engineers and F.P. Shelton and Son, prepared an appraisal for Erwin Cotton Mills, Springs Mills, Thomaston Cotton Mills and Dan River, Inc., which was to be used for a proposed merger of the four groups of mills (the merger never occurred).
