Langdon, Megs, 1918-1993.

Born June 16, 1918, Chicago, Illinois; died October 7, 1993. Community Programs Director, Loyola University Chicago. Mary Margaret Langdon was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 16, 1918. She received her B.A. from Mundelein College in 1940. In 1944, she married John F. Langdon, a former Vice President for Admissions at Loyola University Chicago. In 1977, she became the Director of the Community Programs Office at Loyola University Chicago. She worked in this position until she retired shortly before her death on October 7, 1993. Langdon was active in the Rogers Park and Edgewater communities. Her community activism led her to participate in several committees including the Chicago Planning Committee, St. Joseph Hospital Executive Advisory Committee, Loyola University Women's Board, Rogers Park Community Council, and several subcommittees including the Parking Committee and Chicago Crime Commission. She was chairman of several committees including the Steering Committee 24th District Chicago Police Department, Loyola University Urban Concerns Committee, and Mundelein College Development Fund. She received numerous awards throughout her career including the Loyola University Founders' Day Civic Award, Mundelein College Silver Jubilee Apostolic Award, 1985 Citizen of the Year (with her husband) from the Rogers Park Community Council, General Assembly Merit Award 1987 from the Illinois House of Representatives, and an honorary membership from St. Joseph Health Care Foundation.
