Biographical notes:

Emil Lenzner (1899-1980) was born in Felytz, Germany. He was in enlisted service from 1917 to 1920, and received his commission in the Signal Corps from West Point in 1924. He saw duty in Hawaii from September 1925 to September 1929. He was an instructor with Illinois National Guard from 1933 to 1935 then served as assistant to the signal officer at Army Ground Forces from October 1941 to September 1942. He was chief signal officer in the Western Task Force from September 1942 to January 1943, then chief of the plans division, signal section then chief of the communications branch at Allied Force Headquarters in London in 1943 and 1944. He reached the rank of brigadier general in November 1944, and served as chief of the signal section at Sixth Army Group then at Army Ground Forces from August 1944 to June 1946. He reverted to colonel in June 1946 and retired from Army service in August 1958.
