Biographical notes:

Hugh McKeag, plumber, of New Brunswick, Middlesex County, New Jersey, was the father of Edwin C. McKeag, lawyer and real estate developer, of New Brunswick and Highland Park, Middlesex County; George A. McKeag, plumber, of New Brunswick; and Charles L. McKeag, engineer and trust company officer, of New Brunswick and Highland Park.

Edwin C. McKeag: graduated from Rutgers College with a B.A., 1896, and an M.A., 1897, and from Columbia University with an LL.B., 1900, and a Ph.D., 1905; admitted to the New Jersey bar as an attorney, 1898, and as a counselor, 1901, and to the New York bar, 1899; served as city attorney for New Brunswick, 1907-1909, and in the New Jersey Assembly, 1909; practiced law in New Brunswick beginning ca. 1911; engaged in development of the Magnolia Heights subdivision of Highland Park (on land purchased from his father) beginning in 1911; removed to Highland Park by 1940.
