Frank Ferguson was born in New York and graduated from the Pulitzer School of Journalism in 1918. He worked for various newspapers in the New York area before coming to Spokane as a reporter for the Spokesman-Review in 1941. Ferguson was named city editor, then associate editor in 1950. He was active in professional, civic and business organizations in Spokane and the Inland Empire.
